Wellclad offers annualised welding capacity in excess of 95,000hrs, working on a 24x7 basis. We also have the capacity to handle components up to 30 tonnes in weight with a working envelope of 4m x 4m x 5m.
Our state-of-the-art welding equipment over twin turntables and manipulators supports our vast technical knowledge of more than 650 client and industry-approved Welding Procedures (WPS).

Wellclad has an extensive library of bespoke welding procedure specifications for customers, allowing for fast responses to quotations and efficient turnaround of orders.
1987
"Wellclad" was formally established in 1987, the operations had been running for a decade prior as the internal division of Motherwell Bridge.
2011 - 2012
Wellclad was acquired by Glacier Energy. Moving to custom built facilities in Glasgow an exclusive outsourcing agreement with BEL valves was signed.
2013
Rig capacity doubled. Progress+ was introduced.
2015 - 2016
Weld buttering capability was added. Speed cladding was introduced the following year.
2019-2020
After a rebrand to "Glacier Welding Solutions" in 2018, the business expended into Petrochemical and Defence Industries.
2023 - 2024
ASME U-Stamp was awarded in 2023, enabling entry into other specialist markets and the first Carbon Capture & Storage Product was completed.
2025
Glacier Welding was acquired by the Denholm Energy Services Group and renamed "Denholm Wellclad".
